I still feel SO bad for forgetting to go to Ansley's Student of the month Assembly LAST year! (thanks to Azure for taking pics for me) I made sure to be there this year. It was so fun! I think it is great to acknowledge and celebrate good behavior! I was choked up the whole time, excited for all the kids. Most of them I don't even know, a few were friends of ours and for those I wasn't even able to cheer for them cause I had a lump in my throat. We are so proud of Ansley and glad that she is a hard worker and a positve example to those around her! We love you Ansley! Keep up the good work!

Baked Bread

Claire called earlier this evening to ask a few questions about baking bread from the recipe that I use. It has been so long and I had been thinking about doing it the last few weeks, I decided to bake bread right along with her. We were on the phone with each other measuring, mixing and pouring. I used wheat flour along with white flour, but Claire made her's with just white flour.

We put band aids on and they irritated his skin.

This morning he had 4 new bites

This was taken two weeks ago. It is fun to watch how Ty crawls without putting his left knee down. I guess he keeps it up to help sit down every few inches to check stuff out.

I thought it would be fun for Adalyn and her friends to have a Valentine's Party. And I thought it would be fun to have brunch with the moms of her friends at the same time. So we did! And it was fun!!!

While the waffles were being made, the kids (with help from the moms) decorated their bags for their Valentines. For brunch, we had waffles, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, fruit and waffles. YUM!...oh yeah...don't want to forget the CHOCOLATE!!!!

I have been horrible this year about blogging! I guess I got sucked into Facebook and that is where all the pictures and updates end up.

Well...our biggest news for this year so far, would have to be that we are expecting a baby the beginning of January! I am now 24 weeks and feeling great! Some of you already know what went on this week but here goes anyway for the record.

I had an appointment with my midwife Monday, she said she would like me to get an ultrasound. Not necessarily because she thinks anything is wrong, but just to check and make sure everything is fine. I was a bit shocked to say the least! I talked it over with Evan and we decided that it would be fine and to just go ahead and do it. I made and appointment for Tuesday at 4:30. I called the ultrasound place that morning to ask how many people could come into the room. The lady told me nobody could! I was so mad and told her that was CRAP! This is supposed to be a family time where my husband and girls could see the baby with me! I was also going to see if Mom could come too. She put me on hold and when she came back she said the rooms are too small and they have liabilities because of the radiation, the girls can't go in, just mom and husband. I told her I would call back later and hung up. Um...Radiation??? How can that be safe for the baby??? I don't think she knew what she was talking about. I am pretty sure they don't use radiation.... how about sound waves...ultra sound???

I called Mary (my midwife) and cried, asked her if she knew of another place I could go. She said to just go and then get a 3D or 4D ultrasound at Arrowhead. I could barely talk and told her I wasn't doing all this for fun!. She said she knows and to just get it done. She said she and Nedra are working on a letter to this lab about how rude they are to all their clients. We hung up and I bawled for awhile.

Adalyn was getting a bit nervous and while she hugged me she told me, "Don't cry mommy! Be happy!!!" After crying for awhile, I remembered my conversation with the lady that schedule me....so I called the lab back and asked for her. She came on and I couldn't control my emotions. She kept asking me questions, like are you having pain? no, are you okay? yeah, It took me awhile to get my emotions together to talk to her. I told her that yesterday when I called, I asked for a time in the afternoon that my KINDERGARTNER could come, now I am being told no one can be with me, This is NOT what I want!!! She was very sweet and put me on hold for awhile and came back, she said she couldn't get a hold of the tech I was scheduled to be with, but she talked to the manager and will try to get me the biggest room (she said they are all tiny) and Evan and the girls can be with me. YEA!

I was so relieved I sat here and cried some more! A few hours later I got a call from the lab saying they needed to reschedule because of a mix up with the scheduling of the tech at two different locations. REALLY!? Why was I not surprised??? I was actually fine with that and re-scheduled for today.

SO!!!! We went today Evan AND our girls!!! Everything and everyone was very nice! The baby is healthy, measurements were right on...few days later (Jan 7th) than the due date the midwife gave me (Jan 3rd), but I am late anyway so no biggie!

Tartar Sauce!

My niece Kacie stayed with us for a couple of days last week. I have heard her and Ansley say, "Tartar Sauce!" before, but never really paid much attention. Kacie says that she learned it from iCarly. It is used in place of, "Dang!, darn!, etc... This visit! the little phrase was said many times! Even after Kacie left Ansley kept it alive. She has added her own little accent to it, which is actually kind of funny to hear her say "Tata sauce". It quickly became annoying to hear every time Ansley opened her mouth, but I guess it is growing on me and I have even said it a few times. The funniest thing is that Adalyn picked up on it right away! While she was eating lunch today she kept saying it. I had to grab the camera fast.

Last week, Evan and I were in the kitchen getting dinner together and we looked over and saw Adalyn sitting on Ansley's lap. Ansley was reading a book to her. I tried to get pictures and videos of that but it was too dark for the video and when I turned on the light the girls realized what I was doing and the battery kept dying. A little while later they were back at it, but reading to themselves, out loud!

Ansley didn't know I had taken this video until a few minutes ago. She came in to ask me something and I showed her. She seemed embarrassed at first and then we both started laughing!

We had a fun bringing in the New Year with family at Dennis and Carolyn's. The main entertainment for the night was Wii bowling! If you take a look at the score on the T.V....Evan was green, Ansley was pink and I am not sure which of the other colors Dennis and Tim were. The guys could not believe that Ansley was beating them!!!

One of my good friends from high school, Shelly, came to visit. She came from Ohio to visit her parents for Christmas. She had just found me on Facebook a few weeks ago. It was great to visit with her for a little while!

Amber, Sam and Addisyn came for another visit before they went back to Vegas. Mom came over and brought the quilt she had made for Addisyn. She did a great job on it. It really is beautiful!!!

We had Christmas with Kayl Saturday afternoon. We were able to have him here with us until Friday afternoon. We wish he was closer and could be with us a whole lot more!

The girls tried to help him as much as

possible. He had it under control though.

The other day I washed Adalyn's hands and face at the sink and then she said she wanted a drink. She did this for awhile and right after I took this she fell into the sink and bonked her head. She ended up with a really light bruise. Poor girl! My sister, Darla told us a couple of weeks ago that her friend had an entertainment center she wanted to get rid of. So Evan and I finally went and got it last week. While I was watching a movie with the kids the other day, Adalyn figured out that she fits just right!

And of coarse, Ansley had to try it out too!
I love having the movies behind closed doors again!

We went to Dennis and Carolyn's for a late lunch. Nikki brought her drum set to play on. Everyone got a kick out of how well Adalyn and Ansley played the drums. I told them all that the girls learned by watching their cousin Tanner, an awesome drummer!

Dennis and Carolyn wanted to have ham for Christmas along with Mom's roasted Turkey. They also had Carolyn's family party that next weekend. So they brought over 3 hams and we had one to cook just to eat!We got all the hams seasoned and wrapped in foil. The fire didn't get started until after we got home from Grandmas. So the coals weren't ready till 4 AM!!!

The girls finally went to bed after swinging around 11:30 pm. I finished wrapping a few things and then hung out with Evan. We finally got the foil wrapped hams in the wet burlap, put them down in the pit, closed it, and covered it with dirt by 4:20 AM! The girls woke us up at 8 AM! Evan took a nap later in the morning and I slept good the next night.

Another great friend of mine has started her own business! Claire is an amazing photographer! I have been anxiously waiting to tell the world. I have told a handful of people that she is in business, but now her site is up and ready! A week or so ago Ansley and Adalyn had a session with Claire. I am SO happy with how ALL the photos came out. I got written permission from Claire to put a few on my blog. Evan and I laughed about this first one! Adalyn's head looks so much bigger than Ansley's. Poor girl! I thought it looked a little bit smaller with the photo rotated this way. Claire thinks I am crazy! but that's okay.

Anlsey loves to pose and get pictures taken. Adalyn...not so much! Claire had to be quick! And she did a great job of doing so. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them ALL!!! Thanks Claire!

Evan has a new project

OKAY!!! I know that there are mostly women that look at my blog. Some may be interested, but most...probably not. I just thought I would share this info in case your hubbies or other males you know would be interested in seeing what Evan is up to.

A few weeks ago Evan was doing some work in the garage and I went out to throw something away. When I walked out, I saw this in the driveway...

I believe my exact words were, "What the crap is this??? and Why is it at our house???" Evan explained to me that the neighbor gave it to him and he wouldn't have to spend money putting it together because he already has parts scattered here at our house and down in Safford at Lawrence's Mom's backyard in old cars. I calmed down, a little, and said, in a loving voice, "I don't care what you do to this car, but you are not allowed to touch it until my Mom's door is done!" He agreed that it was a good idea, since he started making my Mom's door about a year and a half ago.

I couldn't believe how this old rat rod motivated Evan to get the door done so quickly! It went to the powder coater this last week. When it is done, I will post some before and afters.

I was a little surprised the other night when Evan asked me to make him a blog. He would like to have a place that he can document the progress of this project. So... 27 Essex is the place! He has asked me several times why I don't have music on my blog. I don't really have one great answer for why. Maybe that I haven't gotten around to it, I listen to other peoples blogs while I blog surf or post sometimes, I didn't know how to do it and haven't taken the time to learn , or probably may favorite...I like the silence! There is enough going on around me with two girls and now two dogs that I don't need to add more noise!!! Anyway, Evan wants music on his blog. Last night we spent some time together picking music. We had several disagreements on his choice of music and he would remind me that it is HIS blog! I do like SOME of the songs he picked, but I have to give a warning that a handful of songs are NOT easy on the ears. SO!!! If you choose to look at his blog, I would advice pausing the music or skipping the songs you are not sure of. Maybe we can find the edited versions of the songs.

We went to two car shows this weekend and I was able to see what Evan has in mind for this car. It will be fun for the family to ride around in and take to the car shows.

Poor Buddy!

Sunday Evan noticed a small bump on the left side of Buddy's face. We thought maybe he got bit by something or Chloe got rough with him, or he slid into a cabinet while playing chase. Monday it looked about the same, Tuesday I thought it looked a little better, but Wednesday....

He looked awful!!! The swelling was so bad and had spread to his eye. I decided I had to take him to the vet. I was able to get a complimentary exam and estimate. RIDICULOUS!!!! about $1000 to run several different test, hospitalize and give medications. They thought maybe he would need to have the bump drained but it wasn't squishy. They were leaning toward something wrong with his teeth and referred me to a vet dentist. I said I would call them when I decided what to do. I called Dennis and asked how silly it would be for him to take x-rays of my pup? He said he had done it before. So we took a couple of views and Dennis said his dentist would be in to get adjusted and would have him look at the films. We thought maybe it was a bad ear infection, sinus infection and figured if that is what we had, we would take a lot of garlic. When I got home I put garlic oil in his ear and used the little dropper to have him drink some liquid garlic.

Thursday the kids and I were gone all morning and came home to find Buddy looking worse! He had been scratching his face. SO SAD!!! I should have gone right away and gotten him a cone to protect his face. But all the kids were asleep and had to be carried in, so I wasn't about to drag them to the store. I cleaned it with peroxide and put neosporin on it. I was surprised at how well he did when I was doing all of that. Later that night...not so good! He remembered and wasn't about to sit still for me. Some dental hygienist came into the office and looked at the films. They told Dennis that Buddy has two abscessed teeth. In the middle of the night the dogs got out of the laundry room and came to join us in our bed. I could feel something wet! When Evan turned on the light he saw that Buddy's face no longer had a huge bump on it. I got up to look and had to change some of the blankets and my shirt and clean up the laundry room a bit. NASTY! I won't go into anymore detail. They did not want to stay in there so we put them in the bathroom with their bed.

Today he looks so much better and is acting like he feels better. Still not sure what we are going to do. Since he is acting better, we are thinking that maybe it isn't as serious as we thought. Any other suggestions are welcome.

This was the first car ride for the puppies since they came all the way from Las Vegas. We were headed to Ansley's preschool for her to "show and tell" her new pups.

Since Halloween this year, I have had a few people ask me if Evan and I dressed up. Well, we didn't dress up this year, but we did last year and the year before.

In 2006 our ward fall social was a costume party. I was pregnant with Adalyn, and was trying to think of some costumes that would go along the lines of being pregnant. I saw several cute ideas online, like the baker and the bun in the oven. Evan wasn't going for it! He said he would go to the costume store and find something for us. WELL!!! Skeletons are what he came up with! I really didn't think it was a good idea to be scary for a church party. But he insisted. So he painted our faces and pinned a small skeleton to my belly for the baby's costume. It was a really fun night and we won "Scariest Costume!" Imagine that!

In 2007, we dressed up a few nights before Halloween to help the youth of our ward with an activity. We were asked to dress "out of the ordinary". All I could think of was for us to switch clothes. We met at the mall and were asked to walk around and window shop. The youth were on there way to look for us. When they found us, they were to say, "Man looketh at the outward appearance" and we said, "but God looketh on the heart". There was quite a few people from our ward that were there. It was a lot of fun to be a part of! Thanks for inviting us Claire! Evalina got a lot of crazy looks and comments. I think Claire was the first one to crack up when Evalina walked up to the mall with our boys, Andy and Adam.

I thought about breakin' out the skeletons for 2008, but with Adalyn being a "Scardy Cat" I didn't think it would be such a great idea. Also Kayl called and asked to borrow one of them. I need to ask for pictures of him with his costume on. I think it was something like a dead football player. I am interested to see how that turned out.

So...maybe next year we will play dress up with our kids!

Little side note off of the subject...I can't believe how much Adalyn looks like Evan. He has been calling her his little boy lately. And in these pictures she looks like she could be! Poor girl has her daddy's head. Hopefully she will grow into it.

Princess Ansley

Yesterday I went to check out Raysha's blog and saw a post for her son's birthday. I thought to myself...What a loser I am!!! I never posted Ansley's birthday a month ago!!! So I started getting all the pictures together and ran out of time to finish the post. And now, today I see another blog with a birthday post. Katie's little boy is 1 today! Cute boy! So! now I will try to get this done and not be such a slacker.

Ansley's birthday was on Sunday the 12th, but on the 10th she went to preschool and had a Princess party here at home. She was so excited to take cupcakes for her class. This is her after school with her balloon and pencil from Ms. Linda and Ms. Amber.

Here are all the Princess's! Ansley, Reeslyn, Payten, Nikki, Mackenzie, Taetum and of coarse the tag-a-long, Adalyn. The girls had fun, eating pizza and frosting their own cupcakes, playing duck duck goose, playing with ponies, getting their fingernails and toenails painted and jeweled (thanks for helping Jenniffer!), putting on lip gloss and running in and out of the house.

Reeslyn stayed after the party to help break-in all of Ansley's new stuff. They had a tea party with the ponies, played with moon sand (outside) and made different shaped soaps.

Sassy girl!

After church, Evan and I thought the girls would be excited to have some cotton candy we brought home from the Fall Social the night before. We were shocked!!! Ansley gagged on one bite and Adalyn wouldn't even put it near her mouth. Adalyn kept pushing it away! Crazy girls! They LOVE sugar! I thought for sure they would love cotton candy.

In the late afternoon we went to Grandma's house for dinner and a little party. Dinner was amazing! (of coarse) Ansley helped Grandma make some yummy apple bread the night before for dessert. Grandma went all out and made fried ice cream too! It was all sooo good!

Good times were had by all! Especially Princess Ansley!

I realized while typing this and thinking about her birthday...all the thank you's we wrote out are still sitting on top of the filing cabinet. We better get those handed out or mailed! Like I say, WAY TOO OFTEN, better late than never, right??? Some day I will get it together.

Sunday morning we were slowly waking up and

Evan thought it would be fun to call the dogs in

(We decided we are used to saying Chloe and

Buddy already, so why change it now) to say

good morning. By the time they found us in our

room I was already getting up. Once I was off the

bed, I turned around to see where the dogs were

going and I see Adalyn moving very quickly to get

up on the head board to get away from the puppies.

She is slowly coming around and not freaking

out as bad as she was when they first came.
Here is where I found her today.

Kinda long but I wanted to have it recorded....

A month or more before Halloween, we were getting a few things from Wally World. Evan and Ansley decided they wanted to look at all the costumes. I got Adalyn out of the cart and put her down so she could look around too. Just before she turned the corner to the isle, I saw Evan coming towards us with a scary old man/monster mask on. I really thought...for a second...about NOT letting her see him...then she walked around the corner and FROZE! I think she stopped breathing and took a few steps back before she started SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER!!! I picked her up, she hid her face in my neck, squeezed me tight and I tried not to drop her...since I was laughing so hard! I know, I am just as EVIL as Evan! I don't know what it is about scaring people that cracks me up! (I do have funny stories about scaring Evan and my brother Doug, even though Doug chooses not to remember) Anyway, minutes after Adalyn being terrified, she was still trembling all over her body. Poor baby!

So! for weeks! ANYTHING having to do with Halloween scared her to death! It wasn't funny anymore! We went to Safford to visit friends and family. We arrived at Niki's house and there on the floor was an Obama mask. As soon as I saw it I asked her to put it away cause I didn't want Adalyn to freak out. SO what does she do??? She puts it on the desk in the room that we are staying in! DUH! SO what does Evan do when he sees it there a few minutes later??? Of coarse he shows it to Adalyn and of coarse, she FREAKS OUT!!! I was not very happy with Evan or Niki. I felt bad for Adalyn and after this she would not leave my site for anything the whole time we were there. I was shocked the next day when Niki asked if we could show it to Adalyn again so that her husband could see her freak out. I said NO right away and so did Brian. LEAVE MY BABY ALONE!!!

A few weeks later, Kayl called and asked if I would mail him a skeleton costume to borrow. So I got the box of costumes out. Ansley was very excited to see what was in the box and try a costume on. Adalyn! on the other hand...went weak in the knees, laid on the floor for a minute hiding her face and then ran down the hall.

When I went to go see if she was okay, this is what I found.

Not a very happy camper! Ansley took the costume off right away.

We tried to make her happy.

She would not let go of me until I showed her that the box was back in the closet. This left me wondering what Halloween was going to be like. When I was looking for costumes for the girls, Adalyn pushed almost everything away. She didn't want any part of it! She seemed to be okay with the witch costume though.

Halloween finally came and Adalyn was a little nervous when Noah (little boy I watch) wore a skeleton costume to Ansley's preschool costume parade. I think she was okay with it only if he kept his distance! That night at trunk or treat she made some WIDE circles around a few of the cars that were a little too creepy. After that night we figured we were done with the scaring until Monday came and Noah wanted to bring his mask to play with. A few hours after he got here we were shocked to see Adalyn playing with the mask and trying to put it on. I went to the closet and got her her own mask.

One of my good friends, Raysha, (she posted about it soon after she was here) came to visit a few weeks ago. We had a great time catching up on life and families while we played with our kids. Her little boy, Scotty, (who's not so little anymore) is so cute! Scotty, Adalyn and Noah played well together.

Trick or Treat!

I was a dork and left the camera at home during Trunk or Treat. We did get a few pictures with the Catalano's camera but we don't have those yet. Ansley wanted to go trick or treating in our neighborhood when we got home from the church. It was kind of late so most porch lights were off. We decided to go to Lala's!

The girls wore their hats to walk up to the door and then ditched them very soon after.

I laugh every time I look at this picture! I know Ansley is a bit tall for her age...but Lala really is still quite a bit taller than Ansley.

This evening, Ansley and I were looking at the Beam's blog and Ansley asked me what the baby's name was. I told her it was Nikolas, like Papa Nick's name is Nicholas. Then she asked me what his whole name was. So we were talking about his name, Evan's name and her name.

Me: "Papa Nick's name is Nicholas Evan Thompson, Daddy is Evan Ansley Thompson and you are Ansley Elizabeth Thompson. Daddy has his daddy's middle name and you have your daddy's middle name. So when you have a daughter you should name her Elizabeth."

Ansley: "when I am a teenager and I have boobs like you and I have a baby in my tummy and I let it out right now I am going to name it Sparkle Elizabeth Evan Ansley Thompson Cathcart"

Me: Laughing and typing as fast as I could in the Beam's comment box to get every hilarious word. I told her she better not be a teenager with a baby in her tummy!!!!

Pit Cooking...this time was for Mom's 70th Surprise Birthday Party

Start with filling the pit (55 gallon barrel in ground) with mesquite wood
Let wood burn down to red hot coals. Coals should fill about 1/3 of the barrel...I think, (I will check with Evan and fix it if I am wrong)
While wood is burning down, season meat and place in foil pans. For the ham we use brown sugar, chili powder, and honey. For the turkey, we have experimented several times. This time, each had a different sauce inside along with onions and celery. I think I sprinkled them with salt, pepper, and parsley. You really can't go wrong!!! For Easter we did a traditionally flavored turkey and a Curry flavored turkey. YUM! Once seasoned, wrap the entire pan in 6-8 layers of foil. Take outside to put pans in burlap sacks that have been soaking in water. We put two pans to a sack. Fold end of sack under and wrap with wire, making a handle for lowing into the pit.
Place all wire wrapped sacks down in pit. Put the lid on the barrel and cover completely with damp dirt. This seals the heat in. 12 hours later remove dirt and lid. Take sacks out of barrel, and the pans out of the sacks. We leave the foil on until we are ready to serve...unless we just can't help ourselves and need to taste the meat! Which is usually the case. The meat comes out soooo tender and just falls off the bone!

I have taken pictures (for blogging) several times when we have cooked in the pit and I have forgotten every time to take a picture of the finished product. Maybe next time...or maybe some one took a picture of the food for Mom's 70th surprise birthday party. I will have to ask around.

I am so glad that my girls are so comfortable with their sweet grandma. I love it that she lives so close and they get to see her at least once a week but usually more.
I can guarantee that while they were falling asleep, Ansley was rubbing grandma's arm and Adalyn had her hand down grandma's shirt. (I will have to put a post together about Adalyn's addiction) :-)

Gardening

This is the best thing that came from our garden! We planted several things but we weren't the best at watering and the sun wasn't the nicest to our plants either. I think we just need to start all over again. At least we did enjoy seeing some of the plants grow for a little while even though we didn't eat anything from them. We were all very excited to see the beautiful sunflowers bloom! Although the sun got to these too after only a few days.

Girls Night Out with Betty Sue!

Thursday night all of us went to Mesa to Poppy's Home Decor to hear Betty Sue from season 5 of NBC's Biggest Loser. We were supposed to go on Tuesday, but it was moved to Thursday so that Betty Sue could go to the Oprah show to be on with others from the Biggest Loser. Her and her daughter were on the Biggest Loser together and Ali ended up winning! Betty Sue is now wanting to talk to as many people as possible about being your best self. Betty Sue tells about how they got on the Biggest Loser and what they went through being on the show. She is very entertaining!

A few weeks ago Katie sent me some information from her cousin about Betty Sue. So I emailed back and forth with Betty Sue and booked her to speak at our December Enrichment meeting. It was great to be able to meet her Thursday and hear her speak. I am looking forward to being in contact with her and hearing her speak again.

Ansley LOVES Ms. Linda and couldn't wait to go back to preschool. And now she has met Ms. Amber and loves her too. She loves to play with Reeslyn. They like to do animal puzzles together and pretend that they are different animals.

Adalyn and Cecelia have become such cute little friends! They have their moments but for the most part they get along great! They both ended up in the sink tonight and loved it. Claire and I figured if they have bathed together they must be BFF'S!!!

I am just going to refer you all to Claire's blog for the cute pictures in her post because my computer is having problems. The second bath picture cracks me up! Adalyn started smiling like this a few weeks ago. She loves to show it off to anyone that will look her way.

Things that SCREEEECH in the night

Okay....so this happened the end of July, but I am just getting around to posting.

Ansley was awake watching a movie around midnight and heard a weird noise outside. She went and looked out the front window and saw part of the tree hanging down. She came and woke me up to tell me the tree fell and she tried to copy the screeching sound it made. Of coarse I didn't believe her so I got up to look. As soon as I moved the curtain back my heart started pounding!!! It wasn't even storming that night, the branch was just rotten (I'm guessing from the tree trimmers a year and a half ago that started to cut it and then changed there mind after already cutting it an inch or so) and the branch finally gave. The screeching sound she heard was the branches and pine needles scratching my Mom's van! Yikes!!! It wasn't that bad though. Just really light scratches on the top of the van. Mom said it wasn't a big deal,(she said she has done worse to the van herself). I didn't take pictures until morning.

I was a bit irritated that the city put a notice on my door before 10 am telling us we had to clean up the branch that had broken.....DUH!!! like I was going to leave it there! Yeah! we did that on purpose, it adds a nice touch to the yard! Don't cha think?!

Anlsey was so excited all morning for it to be the

last day so she could jump off the diving board.

Once it was her turn she was a little nervous

and kept telling her teacher to move closer.

She did finally jump but did the same thing

her second turn. Silly girl!

Adalyn's class was given Popsicles before getting into the water, very smart! Ansley's got hers after class. Her teacher had extra so he gave them to her and said to give them to her parents. Kinda silly since they were already melted when she came over to me. There was no way they were going to make it home for Daddy! So we ate them quickly and still made a mess on the sidewalk.

Saturday, after getting home from Taetum's party, Ansley fell asleep on the couch. This was around 6:30 pm. I thought maybe she would sleep an hour or so and wake up for dinner then go to bed when we were ready to. Which is usually late! She did wake up about 7:30 pm, ate a little and went back to the couch. It was so quick I thought there was no way she was asleep. When I called to her I realized she was OUT!!! I left her there for a while and then put her to bed when we went. Sunday morning I woke up pretty early and realized she wasn't in the bed, so I went to check on where she was. I had no idea how long she had been awake. I am guessing she got enough sleep after 11 or 12 hours. We just about ran into each other coming around corners at the same time. She was coming to tell me about a commercial she was watching. I wasn't totally awake but thought it was funny for her to be able to tell me all about the steamer. She was so into it, even when telling me the second time for me to record it.

my turn and came so close to saving the princess

before I lost all my 8 or 9 lives.

Last Friday, after we got home from a pagent my niece was in, I thought Kayl was lookin' good! So I made him strike a pose or two or three.........

I know...a bit late...but we had a great Independence Day! It started out with me waking up before everyone else and making biscuits from scratch for our wards breakfast. The breakfast was great with a Patriotic program and parade! This was taken when we got home from breakfast. I made potato salad and we went to Scott and Claire's for a delicious BBQ and a little swimming in the late afternoon. I forgot the camera, but Claire took some cute pictures. (click on her names to check out the pictures ...[I am sure most people know that already, but some may not]) Anyway, later in the evening we walked over to GCC and watched the fireworks. After the show was over, Ansley asked if we were going to another show. We had to laugh, because last year we went to 5 different nights of fireworks. My niece's boyfriend, Sam worked for a company that set the fireworks off. We were his groupies last year. It was soo much fun!!! We miss you Samber!!!

Fun Hair!

I came across a hair blog while surfing a few weeks ago. I love it! She gives instructions and photos on different ways to do little girls hair. I have tried a couple of them on Ansley and Adalyn.

I think this one turned out cute! It would look a little bit better if Ansley's hair was longer, so it would have a bigger poof after the braids and bows.

I can't believe I actually got Adalyn to sit still for this twice! The first time was on a Sat. and we didn't go anywhere that evening after I was done playing. So I had to do it again on Sunday and change the colors. The picture is a little bright, but I think you can still see how stinkin' cute she is!

More gymnastics

Ansley, of coarse, had a great time at Gymnastics with Katie. The summer session was just once a week for 4 weeks in June. We decided to let Adalyn try too! I was worried that she was too young, but Katie assured me that she was perfect for the Toddler class. I was still a little iffy after the first class, but she was doing pretty good by the last class. It is so much fun to watch little ones catch on and learn new things!

Swim Lessons

Ansley took lessons from Azure for 2 weeks in June. Azure is such a great teacher!!! Ansley has so much more confidence now!

We decided to continue with some lessons at GCC so that Adalyn could swim with her BFF, Cecelia. Ansley is in a Level 2 class at the same time as Adalyn. I haven't taken the camera yet. We will have to take it next week and see if Claire will take some pictures for us. We've gotta show off Adalyn's mad swim skills too! ;-)

and measured 22 inches long!

The day before Father's Day, our ward had a Primary activity for the kids and their Dads. (I invited myself along to take some pictures)

Dennis and Evan both were guarding their cakes. Maybe some of the younger kids were getting a little too close. Who knows why Evan and Dennis do some of the things they do??? They did share though!
