Not sure why!

Dennis and Evan both were guarding their cakes. Maybe some of the younger kids were getting a little too close. Who knows why Evan and Dennis do some of the things they do??? They did share though!

Out of order post for May

This first picture was from Mother's Day at our house. Darla brought the dessert but we hadn't gotten around to putting it together yet. Evan decided he was ready for dessert on his own. He cut a huge triangle out of the shortcake and then filled it with tons of strawberries and whipped cream. He did this all in the kitchen without anyone watching. So when he came back to the table, he just sat down with his plate and acted like he had done nothing wrong. He likes to get a rise out of my family, especially ME!!!
The next weekend was Evan's birthday on Sunday and Dennis' on Monday. They usually get to share a party. We at least made them their own cakes with candles to blow out. Love yer guts Dendis! Love yer guts even more Pook!

another post....

NO WAY! the time is off on all the previous posts. It is now 2 am! I will do some more catching up tomorrow...hopefully.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I love bargains!!!

I just don't get why Adalyn doesn't!!! I found her a pool toy to sit in. It was at Leslie's Pool Supply on clearance for only $8!!! It has all kinds of entertainment all the way around! The chair swivels all the way around too! She hates it!!! She just wants me to hold her the whole time. She loves the water, she sees Ansley swim and then she wants to swim...but that just isn't happening yet! I am so bummed, cause I was so excited for her to love it!
We played in Darla's pool for a little bit a few weeks ago but it was still freezing! This was probably the longest time she has stayed in there and wasn't screaming.
How do I change her mind and MAKE her love it!?

Such a good helper!!!

Adalyn loves to climb into the fridge anytime it opens. Who wouldn't in this weather, and if you could fit! She had a hay day while I was cleaning it. I feel bad though cause one of the times I was rinsing my cloth, she touched the light bulb. She fussed a tiny little second, so I thought that is probably what happened, but the blister didn't show up for a day or so. It wasn't even red when it happened. After I closed the fridge and started doing the dishes she moved on to her other favorite thing to do. Thanks for helping Adalyn!

Yes! I am still a blogger!

I have had time to blog. I come in, sit at the computer, check email, check a few blogs, maybe make a few comments, and then just when I think I will choose a few pictures to blog about, something happens and I have to walk away from the computer. Then when I make it back for some computer time, it starts all over again!!!!
So I will try to do a little catch up here even though it is almost midnight and my rear is already numb from checking email and chatting on my new gmail chat! Thanks to Claire!!!
Well I just thought Ansley did so great with her performance I wanted everyone to watch it for a month. jk The next day after her performace was a birthday party for our dear sweet friend Sarah! It was a super hero party and we had to come up with our own! Myself, not being very creative, used some of Ansley's easybake stuff and was "Wonder Baker". Evan got some of his welding stuff on and was "Master Fusion".

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!!! ;-)
I still have one more May post but I didn't have a good picture. Coming soon...out of order.

Gymnastics Performance

Ansley did GREAT!!! It was fun to go and watch her and all the other kids. Katie does an AWESOME job with all of them!
I should have gotten a picture of Adalyn with the handful of suckers Katie gave her to occupy her through the performances. She ate one right after the other.

NICE Bridge Ansley! If you look at the picture blown up, her eyes are just a little creepy.

Pre-School Graduation and Water Day

I realize I am a week behind...but better late than never!!! So here we go with catching up, instead of doing chores like I should be, cause both girls are asleep.
Ansley's pre-school graduation was last Thursday evening. It felt weird being there, because we are still not sure if she is going to Kindergarten in the fall or another year of pre-school. Her birthday is not until October so we would have to have her tested. I don't want to start her just because of her size. She towers over most of her friends but I don't think that would be an issue for her if we wait another year. She already knows a lot of what they will learn in Kindergarten, but I am thinking we shouldn't push her to grow up too fast. ???? Any suggestions from experience or not?
She was a little stubborn during the program and wouldn't sing. WHAT THE HECK??? She had fallen asleep on the way there but she had time to wake up and be in a good mood. I wanted to ring her neck! I still love her though!
Friday morning was Water Day at Mrs. Linda's. Some of the Mom's brought their slide for the kids to play on. They had tons of fun!!! and a little too much sun!

Her favorite part of the evening. A mouth FULL of frosting!!!

SHE DID IT!!!

Okay! So I may have been neglecting my girls for a few minutes to check email and look at all the
wonderful blogs I like to see, when Ansley came to tell me that Adalyn dumped out a box of the
marshmallow cereal. I was a little bummed to have food wasted but it was from the dollar store. Anyway, I go to check it out, (with blogging in mind, since that is what I was looking at) I ask Adalyn what happened?
She immediately starts jabbering, pointing at the cereal ALL over the floor and at Ansley. Too funny!

Ansley, of coarse says she did not do it! She was playing with Pooh bear!

Ansley was happy to help clean it up though!

.....funny how there was not ONE marshmallow to be found...hmmmm

Tea for Two

Or should I say...Mac-n-cheese and chocolate milk.
Whatever makes them smile, right?

Finally updating!

Evan's Uncle Rohm and Aunt Barbara stopped by to visit on their way to CA. Evan still had the splints in his nose that made him look like Mr. Piggy. That was probably his worst day for his voice, it was pretty raspy. His top lip was pretty swollen, making it hard to smile normal. He would try so hard to smile and his top lip wouldn't move. I should have taken a picture of him then. I laughed so hard! He is doing awesome now! I can barely hear him when he sleeps. He feels like he is getting more sleep than before. His nose and throat are still a little tender but overall he feels great and is very glad to have it done!

Adalyn was reading all of the books around her, one right after the other, several times.
She is so cute!

Ansley's preschool class had a field trip to a fire station. She was being a little clingy at first but finally moved away from me so I could get her in some of the pictures. The kids got a tour of where the firemen eat, hangout to watch T.V., sleep, workout and an office to do paperwork. Then they were shown a firetruck inside and out.

All of the kids were given a fireman hat and a badge sticker!

On the way to that fire station, Ansley saw Stockman's Feed store. She got very excited cause she remembered going there a month or so ago when we were looking for burlap sacks for our pit cooking. (I still need to put that on here) She has been asking ever since then if we could go back to hold the baby chicks. I told her we could go after we were done at the fire station. I think this might have been more exciting to her than the field trip. It was fun to spend some time alone with her!

Praying for a speedy recovery!!!

Evan thought I was silly to take so many pictures of him. I kept telling him, "I gotta blog it!" He just rolled his eyes and would laugh at me or try to ruin the picture. As you can tell with the first photo he was feelin' fine before surgery. The other photos however are not so happy. After having his tonsils and adenoids out, and having his septum moved, he was in good spirits but in a lot of pain. The medication helps a lot! Sorry about the little bit of blood. I wanted a picture while they were changing the dressing under his nose. He ate a lot of food even though it really hurt! He was starving!!! He hadn't eaten since dinner the night before.

He didn't want me to leave tonight. I stayed as long as I could till I was kicked out. I will go back in the morning and hopefully he will get to come home right away. I hope he gets some sleep tonight.

Thank you all for your prayers! Let's all pray that he has a speedy recovery!

HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY KAYL!!!

We were able to pick Kayl up Friday night in Mesa and have him with us until Saturday night. So we decided to pretend it was his birthday and let him choose where he wanted to eat. He chose Wendy's. I said, "No, really, anywhere you want to eat! Like Chili's or Applebee's..." Evan turned and looked at me and said, "SSSHHH!!! let him choose!" So we ate at Wendy's for dinner and then went and walked around Bass Pro Shop. We played a few of the shooting games they have and bought him a hat. The kids loved watching the huge catfish (bigger than Adalyn) swim in the big tank. I lost count of how many times we went back to see it. In the morning he chose breakfast burritos and lunch was at Arby's with Dennis and Carolyn and boys. After that we took the elders to the grocery store to buy some meat to cook in our backyard pit. (I will blog about that later) Then it was off to the theatre to see Nim's Island. I thought it was good, even though Adalyn didn't sleep till the last 20 minutes or so. On the way to take Devin and Nathan home we stopped at Sonic and let them all get ice cream. Before I gave Kayl's to him I stuck a candle in his whipped cream, lite it and we sang to him. It made me a little nervous to watch Nathan hand it to Kayl over the seat, really close to the ceiling, but they did good and there was no fire in the car! It was a fun day and we were very happy to be able celebrate his 10th birthday with him a little early!!! His actual birthday is tomorrow the 16th.

Poor Daddy!

Evan has sleep apnea and has to sleep
with a breathing machine.
He hasn't ever left it on all night
cause he takes in off without even knowing it.
He says it is like having a leaf blower in your mouth!

Sorry if this grosses anyone out!!!

Evan has wanted his tonsils out for a LONG time. He has had problems with them for as long I have known him. All you can see in the back of his mouth is TONSILS! They are almost touching. Well, he is finally getting what he asked for! Tomorrow morning I am taking him to St. Joseph Hospital's Outpatient Surgery Center for a Tonsillectomy and Septoplasty. He has been warned about how much pain he will be in by several friends, but also how grateful they are to have had it done.

Not hot enough for me!

Our grass needs to be mowed about once a week. Evan was going to mow it right before Easter but my Mom thought it would be better long for the egg hunt. He didn't have time to do it the next weekend and it was WAY pass due. So I decided, since I haven't mowed a lawn probably since high school, I would give it a whirl! I thought I would just surprise Evan when he came home, but I couldn't get it started. The day before Easter he had mowed the weeds in the back yard and set the mower on the lowest setting closest to the ground. I noticed when I started that the grass was really short but just thought it wouldn't matter cause it grows so fast. Well, I didn't think about how close the blades would be to the sprinklers. OOPS!!! I should have taken a picture of the fountain.
Anyway, the girls thought it would be fun to play in the water. So I turned a little sprinkler on for them. It was fun to watch Adalyn get closer and closer and then finally get comfortable to sit on it and try to drink it. It was a beautiful day...just a little breezy! Not warm enough for me to get wet though.

Where's Ansley???

Ansley was laying down on the other side of the wall
laughing. It took Adalyn just a little bit
to figure out where she was.

HHHMMMM???......

Maybe she is over there........

Yeah!!! I found her!

I am so glad they love each other for the majority of the time!

Rough day?

Please do not call CPS?! I didn't do any of it!!! Adalyn fell at church and hit her forehead on a vent on a door. I am not sure when she scrapped her arm, but her knees looked pretty rough too. Ansley got her war wound from Lala's the week before. I think a metal hanger reached out and got her.

Peek-a-boo!

I see you!

Adalyn could play that game all day if YOU could!

Easter Sunday

Daddy is so nice to show the girls how to make BIG bubbles! He was just walking backwards really slow, but each picture I got made him look like a fairy, prancing around with a wand.

Catching up!

Now that I am REALLY finally ready to blog, but still learning, I look at all my pictures and ...there are so many I don't want to leave out! So, I will just back up a little to Easter and then move forward. This picture is actually from the week before Easter. We had Kayl for his Spring Break and he was able to stay for church because of Preston's farewell. By the time church is over, Adalyn falls asleep in the car or soon after we get home. I really like it when she sleeps during Relief Society and then I get to listen. Unfortunately, that hardly ever happens. At least we got a picture of all three kids before they ran in the house to change.
